Description

Nikki Brown, Kion Mapinduzi, JaNesha Slaughter

An introduction to the Harm Free Zone framework combined with a transformative rage, passion, and power meditation. In a time of uncertainty, upheaval, and an environment out of control it is important to be able to find a measure of peace and focus. This workshop is designed to offer constructive ways to direct our rage and hopefully transform that energy to create positive change and healthy interactions in community.

Nikki Brown has been part of the SpiritHouse family since 2007. As an Eastern North Carolina native, she currently splits her time between Rocky Mount and Durham, NC. She believes her work allows people to see and hear how much we all have in common. As a cultural organizer, Nikki uses SpiritHouse’s special blend of cultural alchemy to facilitate spaces of community healing, learning, and collaboration.

Kiongozi is from Mobile, AL. and co-founded Black Empowerment Team in Mobile. Kiongozi is also a tribe member/ culture bearer for Spirithouse. Kiongozi’s words are driven by a belief that it is the job of artists to use our radical imagination to produce the blueprint for the roadmap of our journey to liberation.

JaNesha Renee (she/her) has spent the last 15 years calling North Carolina home. With a passion for arts-based community building, and ancestor-led healing, her goal is to weave stories into guides. She is a daughter of two, sister to four, and a proud auntie of one (so far).
