Name
Southern Essential Workers Organizing for Safety, Justice, and Dignity in a Pandemic
Date & Time
Saturday, September 12, 2020, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Description

A panel presentation followed by an interactive discussion about essential workers organizing for safety, justice, and dignity on the job. The 60-minute panel discussion and Q&A will bring together organizers from a diverse set of essential worker sectors: nurses, teachers, transit, meatpacking, restaurant, and/or farmworkers. The panel will explore the situation facing essential workers in each of these sectors six months into the pandemic, what workers are doing to organize in this time, and what needs to happen to win justice and dignity for workers and our communities. After the panel, we hope to convene a participatory discussion about essential worker organizing in the South.
