Proctor Institute 2021
The Children’s Defense Fund (CDF)’s Proctor Institute for Child Advocacy Ministry gathers faithful child advocates, organizers, seminarians, clergy, young leaders, and anyone with a passion for justice for our children.
All are welcome to join us for preaching and teaching, inspiration and insight, strategizing and sharing stories in Beloved Community. Together we will listen to young people, gain information and skills, and refresh and renew our spirits so we can continue the hard, hopeful, sacred work of pursuing justice for children and ending child poverty, racism, and the pain wrought by the pandemic. Plan now to join us.
Usually held at CDF Haley Farm, the spiritual home of the children’s movement, in 2021 CDF’s Proctor Institute will again be held virtually to ensure it is safe and accessible to all. While the platform will be virtual, the Beloved Community will be real.
CDF’s Proctor Institute for all begins on Tuesday, July 20th from 5:30-8:30 p.m. EDT. On Wednesday and Thursday, July 21 and 22, two workshop sessions are offered between noon-3:30 p.m. EDT and the plenary program is held from 5:30-8:30 p.m. EDT. The plenary program includes theology and child advocacy sessions, “listening to the children” discussions, music and spoken word, and the Great Preacher series. We are eager to be together again.
Special sessions of the Dale P. Andrews Freedom Seminary for seminarians and interested others (including undergraduates, doctoral students and community organizers interested in a theological conversation) are on July 7, July 19, and July 20th. Participants will also join all of the CDF Proctor Institute sessions.
