Since 1932, Highlander has been a catalyst for grassroots organizing and movement building in Appalachia and the U.S. South. As a school and home for movement, we provide programs, resources, support, and space for people directly impacted by social injustices to build leadership, build collective power, and develop solutions for change in our lives and communities that transform systems, structures, and society.

Homecoming is our favorite weekend of the year at Highlander, bringing together hundreds of movement family from around the globe who join for fellowship, shared learning and strategizing, singing and dancing, and deepening relationships over a meal, a beautiful view of the mountains, or in the quiet moments the Hill provides.                                                        This year, we're bringing that spirit online!
